What is The Blind Architect?
One architect sees a private prompt but cannot draw. They send text instructions or use your own voice call to describe the idea while everyone else recreates it on blank canvases. Reveal the results together.
How to play
- Invite at least three players to one room.
- The architect reads the private prompt but does not draw.
- The architect describes shapes and positions while everyone else draws on a blank board.
- Reveal the results and vote in the gallery. Compare which instructions were clear and which produced surprises.
Who is it for?
Friends and remote teams who like comparing how people interpret instructions. Text instructions work; a separate voice call also helps.
Try this in your first game
Try “a large rectangle in the centre, a triangle on top, then a small square near the bottom”. Even basic instructions can produce very different houses.
- Describe one shape at a time: size, position, then relationship to nearby shapes.
- Use “left of the large circle” rather than “over there”.
- Give people time to draw before adding the next instruction.
Before you invite your friends
How does my friend join?
One person creates the lobby and shares its room code or full invite link. Everyone else joins that same room. Creating a second room will put you in separate games.
Can we play on phones?
Yes. Use a browser on each device and keep the game tab open during the round. A larger screen gives drawings more room. For a call, use your usual voice or video app separately.
Do we need accounts?
No account or download is required to play these games with friends.
