The game

Draw & Guess, explained.

Draw & Guess is a free, real-time drawing and guessing game you play in your browser with friends. One player is given a secret word and sketches it on a shared canvas while everyone else types guesses in the chat. The first to guess correctly scores the most points, and the round ends when the word is found or the timer runs out.

How a round works

  1. The drawer secretly receives a word and starts sketching on the shared canvas.
  2. Everyone else watches the drawing appear and types guesses into the chat in real time.
  3. Hint letters of the word are revealed gradually, so guessers always have a chance.
  4. The first correct guess scores the most points; later correct guesses score less.
  5. The round ends, the turn passes to the next player, and the scoreboard updates.
  6. When the score target or last turn is reached, the winner is crowned and the Roast Awards play.

Three ways to play

Quickplay

2–8 players · 5–10 min

One tap spins up a room with balanced defaults — a fair draw time and a sensible score target. The fastest way to start when nobody wants to fiddle with settings.

First to score

2–6 players · 8–12 min

Set a points target (try 200 or 300) and play short, fast rounds until someone reaches it. The tight back-and-forth makes this the best mode for two players, couples, and head-to-head games.

Turns per player

3–8 players · 15–60 min

Choose how many turns each player gets so the game has a clear, fair length. Six players at three turns each is roughly an hour of solid play, and everyone draws the same number of times.

Word categories

Words are drawn from a mix of categories so rounds stay varied, with difficulty that ramps up as the game goes on. The same word never repeats within a game.

Everyday objects

Chairs, umbrellas, toasters — easy wins to warm the room up.

Animals

From a cat to a platypus, with difficulty that scales as you go.

Food & drink

Pizza, sushi, a suspicious-looking smoothie.

Actions & verbs

Running, sneezing, juggling — harder to draw, funnier to watch.

Places

Beaches, airports, the inside of a volcano.

Tricky / expert

Abstract words that separate the real artists from the stick-figure crowd.

More on the way

We're focused on making this one drawing game great rather than spreading thin across many. Themed word packs, custom host word lists, and a team mode are in progress — see the roadmap for the full picture.
