How to Plan an Online Puzzle Date Night
For an online puzzle date, start a private room, choose a picture you both like and keep the first puzzle small. Stay on your usual voice or video call if you want to talk. The game supplies a shared board; your call is separate.

Pick somewhere you want to visit, food you both love or a colourful scene with easy-to-recognise details. If you are new to the controls, 24 or 50 pieces with rotation off is a gentle starting point.
The timer can be a fun challenge, but you do not have to make speed the point of the evening. Private Free for All shows each person’s score. You can still agree that finishing the picture is your shared goal.
Set up the invitation
- Choose Private lobby in Puzzle Party and select the picture.
- In the lobby, the host sets piece count and picture views. More puzzle options includes exact piece counts and rotation.
- Copy the invite link and send it to your partner. Check that both names appear in the lobby.
- Press Start puzzling. On a phone, use zoom and keep chat compact when you need more board space.
Turn a memory into the puzzle
In the private picture picker, choose Your own photo. Upload a permitted JPG, PNG or WebP, name it and keep visibility private. After uploading, select the picture to create your room.
A street scene from a trip offers more varied clues than a mostly plain sky. Take turns describing a detail you have found or the moment the photo brings back. Keep the original file; the puzzle service is not permanent photo storage.
Try these conversation prompts
Which part of this place would you explore first? What would we eat here? Which photo should become our next puzzle? These questions work without asking either person to perform or win.
For a playful change afterwards, choose a couples drawing mode. For a quieter ending, look at the completed picture and choose another only if you both want to continue.
Make the next date easy
Alternate who chooses the picture. Try one familiar photo and one new location on different evenings. Increase the piece count only when you both enjoy the added challenge.

Questions before you play
Can we use two different devices?
Yes. Each person opens the same room invitation in a browser. A computer and a phone can share a puzzle.
Is there a built-in video call?
Use your existing calling app separately. On one phone, switching apps may interrupt the game connection; a second device for the call can be more comfortable.
