Turn Your Photo into an Online Jigsaw Puzzle

Choose a picture that will make a good puzzle

Start with a clear photo that has several distinct colours, edges or objects. A landscape picture fits the board best because the game uses a landscape crop. If the subject sits at the edge of a portrait photo, part of it may be cut off. A sharp image gives the smaller pieces more visual detail, especially on 300–1,000-piece boards.

Use a JPG, PNG or WebP file under 20 MB, and only upload photos you have permission to share. A colourful street scene, a group memory with an uncluttered background, or a pet against a contrasting blanket is easier to solve than a large patch of identical sky.

Upload and name your puzzle

1. Go to the puzzle library and choose Your own photo or Upload your photo.
2. Select the image, give it a name and choose a collection. The name appears in your room and helps you find it later.
3. Choose Private for a photo meant for your invited group. Select the community option only if you want to submit it for review for the public library.
4. After the upload finishes, choose your new picture and select Play with friends. Send the private room link or code.

Private photos are playable in the room you create but are not automatically published to the gallery. The current site removes private uploads after 30 days. Community submissions appear publicly only after approval, so uploading a picture does not instantly put it in front of other players.

Pick difficulty for the picture

Once friends join, the host can set 24, 50, 100, 200, 300, 600, 800 or 1,000 pieces. A photo with large, similar areas benefits from fewer pieces. A detailed landscape can support a bigger board. Turning on rotation makes every placement harder; leaving it off is a good first run for a couple or mixed-age group.

The host can also limit how often each player opens the complete picture, from no views to unlimited views. Each opening uses one view and is announced in chat. If your group mainly wants to enjoy the memory, leave more views available. If you want a challenge, set a lower number before starting.

Keep a personal puzzle private

A private room does not show in the public lobby list, but its invite code is a short invitation, not a strong password. Share the link only with people who should see the picture. The host can close new joins or remove a disruptive participant. If you would rather avoid uploading a personal image, choose one of the ready-made photos in the library instead.
